The show that I watched this week is called Brain Wall. It began in 2006 and is also often referred to as human tetris. I used to watch this show quite a lot with my siblings when we lived in Japan so watching it again brought back some good memories. The genre of Japanese game shows is known for being pretty crazy and this show is no exception with contestants taking turns trying to fit through moving foam walls that each have their own unique cutout in them. To be successful the contestant must fit themselves through the cut out in the wall so as to avoid being pushed into the pool of water that is behind them. Overall, I find it to be pretty entertaining viewing as the contestants are hardly ever successful and are often forced to twist their bodies into some very strange shapes. It provides light humor and is another insight into the strange world of Japanese game shows.

春休みに友だちといっしょにフロリダに行きます。フロリダはとてもいい天気があるので、毎日ビーチに行きたいです。ビーチでリラックスをするのほかに、つりをしたいです。そして、しんせんなさかなを食べます。車でフロリダに行きますから、ちょっとたいへんです。でも、楽しみにしています。 フロリダで色々ないいレストランがあるそうですから、よく外で食事をしたいです。おいしいピザがほしいです。 そして、フロリダはたくさんのアリゲイターがいるそうですから、アリゲイターをみたいです。オーストラリアはアリゲイターがいませんが、大きいクロクダイルがいますから、ちょっとこわいですよ。 そのほかに、フロリダでいいことをするのがあまり分かりませんから、今週末に研究して見ましょう。そして、友だちの家族はフロリダに住んでいるので、友だちのごりょうしんはおもしろいところが分かります。

私の一番好きなレストランはメルボルンにあります。LASVOLTAというイタリアりょうりのレストランです。ぜんぶの食べ物はとてもおいしいと思います。イタリアりょうりのレストランなので、色々なピザやパスタがあります。そして、イカとブルスケッタもあります。私はよく家族といっしょにばんごはんを食べに行きます。 きょねん、たんじょう日に友だちといっしょにLASVOLTAに行きました。私はマルゲリータピザとイカにしました。そして、ビールを飲みました。ピザはあぶらが多いですが、とてもおいしいです。だから、私はよくピザにします。 LASVOLTAのほかに、ロヤルというバーガーレストランがよく行きます。バーガーが大好きなんです。そして、うちに近くにあるんですが、べんりです。ロヤルでよくさかなのバーガーとポタトチップスにします。ポタトチップスはとてもしょっぱいですが、たくさん食べます。

スキートはおもしろくて、楽しいとおもいました。そして、とてもべんりでした。私は日本に行ったら、’〜んです’をたくさんつかいます。そのほかに、日本に行ったら、たくさんの買い物をしたいです。日本のアクセサリーがほしいので、百円のみせに行って、ぼうしとベルトを買いたいです。 そして、日本のりょうりはとてもおいしいので、色々なわしょくレストランを食べに行きたいです。ラメンとすしを食べたいですが、なっとうを食べたくないです。 そして、日本に行ったら、東京のほかに、ほっかいどに行きたいです。ほっかいどでスキーをしたいです。日本はいいスキー山がたくさんあるんです。そして、スキーをするの後で、おんせんに入りたいです。ほっかいどはさむいんです。 そして、私の友だちは東京オリンピックに行きますから、東京にも行きたいです。そして、友だちのゲームを見に行きたいです。

Gaki no Tsukai is a Japanese variety show hosted by a group of comedians. My favourite segments are the ones that involve a group of friends being put through strange challenges. The episode I watched had them all sitting in a classroom and being put through things that were supposed to make them laugh. If any of them were to laugh, they would be slapped with a foam bat.  For example, one of the things they had to do was watch a video of a Japanese man trying to read an English book. His English was not great so he often mispronounced words, causing the guys to struggle with holding back their laughter.  Seeing this on TV was pretty funny to me as it is definitely not something you would find on TV here in America. Nevertheless, it is quite entertaining and I would suggest that you try and watch some if you find the time.
